| Many of us at Camino al Cambio have spent years working with street children and youth in Ecuador, in the capacity as volunteers, professionals, researchers or some combination thereof. Ultimately, in the face of the growing HIV/AIDS epidemic amongst the youth, we opted to form a legal association to directly address the most immediate issues facing the children and youth on the streets and to make their health and the recognition of their human rights our priority. We work to minimize the disparity in services offered to the most vulnerable and neglected street youth, and we strive to fill the gaps in services-provisions by making health and human rights issues our highest priorities. |
